Archery GB Disability Championships 23

The Worshipful Company of Fletcher’s Disability Championship 2023 at Lilleshall National Sports Centre. The competition is open to World Archery classified athletes and athletes with a physical or visual impairment.

Event format

Saturday

Qualification will be a WA 70/60/50m shot at the distance of your choice in ends of six.

Head to head matches will be shot between two archers in the same category. Each archer has 20 seconds to shoot each arrow. (Except the W1 category who get 30 seconds in alternate match play)

Sunday

The new addition to the 2023 shoot is a pairs competition. All archers will compete at 30m followed by head to heads. Archers will be assigned pairs prior to the competition, bow types will shoot with the same bow type, there will be no categories. Everyone will shoot on a 80cm face.

Scoring

Recurve / W1 Category – Set scoring

Each set consists of three arrows. If an athlete wins the match, they win 2 set points, a tie is worth 1 set point. The winner is the first archer to gain 6 points.

Compound – Cumulative scoring.

Athletes will shoot 5 ends, 3 arrows per end, totalling 15 arrows with a maximum score of 150 points.

*The organising committee reserves the right to combine bow types and/or genders if final entries do not allow for a competitive environment.

*The organising committee may contact archers to change categories if there are an insufficient number of competitive archers within their chosen category.

Any member of Archery GB or a World Archery association is welcome.

Members must have either a World Archery classification (National or International) or be a member who considers themselves to have a disability.

(Athletes must bring their World Archery classification card, or other evidence as appropriate if they are competing in a WA classified event)

Please ensure that the organiser is aware of any specific requirements you have. Please do not assume we already know.

Archers who are unable to get the target are asked, if possible, to arrange for an assistant to aid in scoring and arrow collection.

Programme athletes are reminded that they train and compete under their athlete agreement and related code of conduct for the duration of their time on an AGB programme.

World and European para records can only be claimed by Para classified athletes.

All athletes can claim able-bodied, World or British records in line with the World Archery and Archery GB rules.

Toilets – There are two disabled access toilets in the pavilion and there will be two disabled portaloos on the field behind the shooting line.

Event results will be published online after the event

Urgent event notifications will be published on all of Archery GB’s social media platforms. The entry list is available on the AGB entry portal.

Free parking will be available onsite

No refunds will be given 28 days before the event. Refunds prior to this will be as advertised on Sport:80 when you enter and will be administered 5 working days after the event.

The decision of the Competitions and Events Manager will be final.

Please refer to Archery GB rules of shooting for dress regulations, all archers should comply with dress regulations until after presentations of the awards.

Archers competing at record status tournaments may be subject to testing. Competitors who are approached to give samples must comply; Non-compliance will be treated as a positive result.  By entering this competition, you consent to testing, this is in line with UK Anti-Doping Policy, Rule 5.7.2.

Smoking/vaping is not allowed on the field of play; there are designated smoking/vaping areas on the main driveway.

Event formats can be changed on the day due to unforeseen circumstances by the competition manager, organiser and judge in charge in collaboration with competitors.

Lost arrows must be reported to a judge or member of the field party (please remember to inform them if you later find the arrow). It is the archer’s responsibility to account for all arrows before leaving the field.

Animals will not be allowed at this event, except for assistance dogs.

By entering this event you agree that details such as Name, Bowstyle, Category or Club may be published in documents or lists relating to the event, and at a schedule decided by Archery GB Competitions.

Target List will be published on the day. Please contact the organiser if you need confirmation of entry. Results will be published on the Archery GB website.

Your email will be used for entry acknowledgement.

All entries will be treated in accordance with the Archery GB privacy notice and subject to Archery GB’s competition terms and conditions.
